Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Nurse Executive of the Allegheny Health Network, the Chief Nursing Officer provides leadership at the hospital executive level for nursing services and assists in the development of the Forbes Hospital strategic plan.
Leads nurse leaders and non-nurse leaders in delivering high quality care to patients at Forbes Hospital.
Collaborates with the hospital leadership and medical staff to identify, develop, and execute clinical care of current and future programs.
Ensures continued compliance with, and promotion of, nursing practice commiserate with the Magnet™ journey.
Develops, communicates and executes a strategy supporting a robust staffing plan and standards of patient care and services that meet patient care delivery needs of the organization.
Serves as a member of the Chief Nurse Council and a member of the Executive Nursing Team of Allegheny Health Network.
In collaboration with system-level nurse executives, creates, executes, and refines system and hospital-level strategies that address specific initiatives, including:
Quality, safety, and value of patient care
Patient experience and service excellence
Recruitment and retention
Evidenced-based practice; education, training, and competencies
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to nursing services and healthcare.
Master's degree in Nursing.
DNP or PhD in Nursing or Education preferred.
Current Pennsylvania RN license; or license eligible in Pennsylvania.
Ten years progressive management experience.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and self-motivation. Must be able to make difficult decisions, measure and achieve targeted results. Must be able to work in a complex, faced-paced environment and take necessary actions, as appropriate.
