UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC) with 779 beds and 69 bassinets is the region's trusted academic medical center, part of the UMass Memorial Health Care system. The obstetrics and gynecology team is involved in cutting-edge research focused on a number of areas within women’s reproductive health.
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer Women’s and Children’s Services (ACNO) reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (SVPCNO) and works in collaboration with Division Chairs and Chiefs of Divisions of Pediatrics, Neonatology and Obstetrics. The ACNO serves as a member of the Nursing Executive Management Team and is responsible for operational developmental and oversight of the services provided to obstetrical, newborn and pediatric patients and their families. The ACNO establishes goals for the division, is responsible for quality service delivery that is cost effective and timely, develops new programs, expands existing services, and establishes systems that ensure continuity of care. The ACNO works to ensure that financial, quality, service, and human resource goals are met. The ACNO is responsible for 10 PICU beds and 5East/South with 30 Pediatric beds on the University campus, as well as Labor and Delivery with over 3,500 births, 58 Maternity beds, 7 Antepartum beds, and 47 Newborn Nursery, 27 NICU and 22 SCN bassinettes at the Memorial campus.
A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, one of which must be in Nursing.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a healthcare environment and progressive management experience required.
Proven leadership ability to motivate and lead staff.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and evaluate programs.
Sound fiscal management experience to develop department budgets and analyze fiscal data.
Prior leadership experience in an AMC or complex teaching environment.
