Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking a Director of Emergency Services to join our team!
Job Summary: Responsible for integration of the nursing process to include, coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of Services provided with a core focus on Facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.
A 450-bed tertiary care facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) is the Virginia Peninsula's most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment. The Emergency Department, a Level II Trauma Center with 42 beds has more than 60,000+ visits annually and offers a full scope of services, including:
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Comprehensive Stroke Program
Observation and PCA Units
Forensic Nursing Program
Ground Transport Service
The Director of Emergency Services has ultimate responsibility for 158 FTE's. The leadership team to support the success of the Director of Emergency Services includes:
2 Nurse Managers
1 Assistant Nurse Manager
1 Clinical Educator
Education: BSN required. MSN or masters in related field preferred upon hire; required within defined period of hire date. Candidates within 1 year of completing their BSN will be considered.
Licensure/Certifications: Current and valid RN licensure with eligibility in Virginia is required. Virginia RN licensure must be held prior to start date for out of state RN candidates. CEN is preferred.
Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities to develop skills in emergency services, and/or in application of administrative principles is required.
Concentrated experience in emergency services is highly desirable, including 3-5 years of management experience in a high acuity ED.
Experience managing a level I or II trauma center nursing team is strongly preferred.
Experience with process improvement, ED efficiency improvement and accreditation readiness is strongly preferred.
