The Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (VP/CNO) functions as a key member of the senior executive team serving as a catalyst for aligning clinical goals and business objectives. The VP/CNO will be responsible for the delivery of nursing care throughout the Central Indiana hospitals. The VP/CNO creates an environment that supports a culture of quality, safety, and appreciative inquiry. The VP/CNO possesses knowledge and skills that demonstrate principals of transformational leadership, servant leadership, mentoring, organizational development, and emotional intelligence. The VP/CNO will be a dyad partner with the Chief Medical Officer and will provide leadership and strategic direction for all patient care services throughout the region. The VP/CNO has a direct reporting relationship to the President/CEO for the region and to the SVP/System CNO.
Education: Master’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing or Business required. If Master’s degree is not in Nursing, BSN required.
Licensure: Unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in State of Indiana and a current CPR certification.
Certification: Certification in nursing administration (NE-BC, NEA-BC) is required. If not currently certified upon hire, certification is required within one (1) year of hiring.
Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive senior level nursing leadership. Previous experience as a CNO preferred.
