Witt/Kieffer has been engaged to assist in the recruitment for the Chief Executive Officer of LAC+USC Medical Center, located in downtown Los Angeles.
As of the second largest public hospital in the country, LAC+USC Medical Center stands as a complex tertiary, Level-One trauma center and the flagship facility of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS). The hospital is a training site for the U.S. Navy and through its affiliations with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and the Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health, it is a premier academic teaching hospital and one of the state’s leading institutions for training health professionals in nearly every medical specialty and subspecialty.
Reporting to the Los Angeles County DHS COO, the CEO of LAC+USC will work to advance the hospital’s mission and vision while focusing on continued operational improvement and future growth of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have significant executive leadership experience within a public healthcare organization and be comfortable working within a complex, matrixed system environment. Candidates should have experience leading strategic initiatives, developing and implementing approaches to improving the quality of care, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and partnering and aligning in creative ways with physician leaders on program development. The CEO must be mission-oriented, visible, collaborative and committed to providing care to the communities LAC+USC serves.
