Kennedy Health is seeking a dynamic, experienced, team-oriented and quality focused nursing executive to assume the role of Assistant Vice President, Nursing Services for the Washington Township campus. This position reports directly to the Chief Nurse Executive and Vice President Clinical Services for Kennedy Health. The Assistant Vice President will have overall responsibility for the management of the 230 bed acute care facility, overseeing 680 FTE, 824 personnel, with 2 direct reports, 8 nurse managers, 4 advanced practice nurses supporting observation status patient and neuroscience patients, and campus-based nurse educators, infection control nurses and wound care nurses. The AVP will collaborate with the AVP of Surgical Services in daily operations of the site’s Surgical Services, the Interventional Laboratory, and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
A registered nurse eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business, or a related field is required. Doctoral preparation preferred.
Certification required at time of hire or within one year of hire. Minimum of three years’ experience as a Nurse Executive in a similar medical center setting.
Demonstrated success in developing an effective nursing leadership team with a shared vision and success in achieving organizational goals and objectives including Magnet designation.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop nursing leadership staff, and appropriately delegate to assigned staff. Must empower others and have strong motivational skills.
A leader who embraces the servant leadership model with strong operations experience and an appreciation for the complexities associated with system-wide problem solving.
