Le Bonheur Children's Hospital is the first and only comprehensive pediatric medical center in Memphis and its surrounding region, serving Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The hospital has 65 years of history in providing care with 255 inpatient beds and a busy Emergency Department with 103,000 annual visits and 3,500 annual Air and Ground Transports.
At Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, pediatric specialists work together as one team to focus on one thing: children’s care. The team of nearly 900 physicians are experts in 40 clinical specialty areas and can diagnose and treat even the most complicated childhood illnesses.
U.S. News & World Reportrecognizes Le Bonheur as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in eight specialties. Le Bonheur achieved Magnet Designation by the ANCC in early 2016 and received recognition by the American College of Surgeons with a Level 1 Trauma Designation.
The Senior Director Emergency Services, provides leadership, direction, and administration for the Emergency Department (ED) and affiliated areas. Areas of responsibility include Le Bonheur ED, Germantown Le Bonheur ED, Fastrack, Transfer Center, PediFlight and Transport. Oversees and manages budget requirements and provides accountability in achieving targets. Directs all services within area of responsibility, including nursing, and ensures effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and supplies. Manages and fosters positive physician relations and maintains growth and development for staff of assigned areas. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
Master’s degree required; a minimum of Master’s or Bachelor’s degree must be in Nursing.
Minimum of five (5) years of management experience within a complex acute care hospital setting.
Current license as an RN in the State of Tennessee. TN is a multi-state compact licensure state.
Experience in ED services leadership in an academic medical center; experience in pediatric settings strongly preferred.
Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) certification, Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) certification, or other nationally recognized national certification strongly preferred.
