IUH has finalized site plans for a new Regional Academic Health Center to replace Bloomington Hospital. The 735,000-square-feet complex will house Indiana University Health Bloomington inpatient and outpatient services as well as a 115,000-square-foot academic facility that will be used for health sciences education and research at Indiana University. The new state-of-the-art facility will bring together multiple medical specialties and outpatient services into one convenient setting, and will also provide a unique and innovation driven environment in which Indiana University and Indiana University Health can partner to teach future generations of healthcare professionals.
IUH bloomington is seeking an experienced nursing leader to assume the role of Director of Surgical and Procedural Services. The Director will have administrative leadership and operations responsibility for Surgical Services including 14 ORs, PACU, PAT, and ENDO. The incumbent will have the opportunity to participate in the design and build for the new OR which will house 15 ORs including one hybrid OR. The Director reports to Linda Lewis, the Chief Nursing Officer and works in close collaboration with the Chief of Staff for Surgery. The Director is supported by Coordinators for each Specialty.
A Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching hospital.
Ten years nursing experience and a minimum of five (5) years of nursing leadership experience in a complex organizational setting in surgical/perioperative services.
Experience working in a Magnet designated facility is highly desirable.
