RN Director, Emergency Department
In this role, you will develop, implement, lead, and evaluate all aspects of management and ensure the provision of quality patient/family centered care for the Emergency Services patient population. You will provide leadership development, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and insures staff has the necessary skills and competencies to perform their essential job functions. You will also coordinate meetings and committees related to the provision of interdisciplinary patient care and staff development. In collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders, you will develop and coordinate workgroups to address organizational goals and develop/monitor performance indicators/metrics for patient safety and business functions. Other duties include supporting Kaiser Permanente compliance efforts, reporting, and resolving areas of non-compliance while maintaining confidentiality; protecting organizational assets; exhibiting ethics and integrity; and facilitating excellent communication and partnership activities both internally and externally. In addition, you will be responsible for evaluating business initiatives and recommending process/system redesign and new service development.
At least five years of management experience in a leadership role in a health care organization
At least two years of budget development
A bachelor’s degree in nursing
A master’s degree in nursing or a health care related field is also required
A current Oregon or Washington RN license in state where assigned required upon hire/transfer
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required within 90 days of hire/transfer
Knowledge of computer applications: word processing, multimedia, spreadsheets
Leadership: training, giving, and receiving instructions
Skills in analytical problem solving, quality management, systems thinking, oral and written communications
Preferred Qualifications Include:
At least three years of supervisory experience in a health care organization in a managed care setting
Labor relations in a union environment
Payroll/financial systems/budget experience
Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration
A member of a professional organization
Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission, NCQA
