Trinity Health, located in Livonia, Michigan, seeks a dynamic clinical leader, for the position of Vice President, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO).
This is a coveted opportunity to join a highly regarded health system that is financially strong and poised for future growth. Trinity Health is one of the largest multi-institutional, Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation. Its network of hospitals, senior living facilities, homecare, hospice and PACE programs serves people and communities in 22 states. With annual operating revenues of approximately $17.6 billion and assets of about $23.4 billion, the system returns close to $1.1 billion to its communities annually.
The CNIO will demonstrate understanding of clinical informatics and health information technology, and will serve as a champion for complex nursing projects and the technical systems that support efficiency and effectiveness for clinical users. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to optimize the care process, and will strive for excellence in advancing evidence-based practices, enhancing patient outcomes and improving the overall care experience across the care continuum. As a transformational leader, the CNIO must have the ability to articulate his/her vision and create steps to operationalize the strategy and workflow process for nursing.
The CNIO serves as the informatics liaison to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to support nursing and clinical initiatives, understanding clinical practice opportunities, and bringing forward recommendations to the informatics leadership team. Collaborating with the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO) and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), the ideal candidate will be an experienced change agent and influencer, and will demonstrate dynamic leadership engagement. He/she will unite, chair and provide oversight and expertise for clinical advisory groups/committees that relate to nursing and clinical informatics. The CNIO will engage with clinicians and care providers across disciplines and across the Regional Health Ministries, building strong relationships and fostering understanding and engagement of clinical health information technology that represents the way care is delivered in an integrated care delivery model. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
We would appreciate receiving recommendations or nominations of qualified candidates. All nominations will be handled with the utmost of professional courtesy and confidentiality.
