The Medical University of South Carolina’s Medical Center has an immediate opening for a Director of Clinical Excellence Education to lead the strategic and operational planning of MUHA clinical education. The Director reposts to the Chief Learning Officer with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Executive Chief Nursing officer. This role manages clinical education staff to include but not limited to Nursing Professional Development, Clinical Instructional Design, Simulation Education, Nurse Residency and Graduate Nurse Education, and AHA (and other clinical/professional certification programs). This position also supports inter-professional and interdisciplinary educational planning and alignment.
Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in Nursing or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Nursing and a Master’s degree in a relevant field required; RN licensure and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required. At least five years of progressive nursing work experience which must have included supervisory or management experience and a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical education role required. Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements preferred.
