Elkhart General Hospital located in Elkhart, Indiana, has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the search for a Vice President of Nursing.
Elkhart General Hospital (EGH) is a 326-bed licensed hospital with over 2,000 employees and 390 physicians representing more than 37 specialties. EGH provides a full continuum of services with strong clinical programs in cardiology and cardiac surgery, oncology, orthopedics, and general surgery and has rich history for serving their patients in the community with a patient-first health care mission. Together with Memorial Hospital of South Bend, EGH is a member of Beacon Health System, a two hospital system with the Beacon Medical Group and revenues of approximately $1 billion.
The next Vice President of Nursing is a key member of the EGH leadership team and will be responsible for the operational leadership of all nursing and patient care services within the hospital. The Vice President of Nursing will report directly to the President, Elkhart General Hospital. Along with the Vice President Operations and Vice President Medical Affairs, this nursing leader will be responsible for helping to ensure EGH provides high quality patient care, in a healing and respectful environment. This VP will bring a strong focus and background in quality care, patient satisfaction, enhanced employee engagement, and improved efficiency. She/he will need to be a highly collaborative leader who will provide strong leadership in a transparent and credible fashion. As a health system leader, the Vice President of Nursing will need to be someone who appreciates the value of ‘systemness’ and have an understanding of how to be successful in working across a matrixed organization.
