Assistant/Associate Chief Nursing Officer
Maricopa Integrated Health Systems (MIHS) is looking for an experienced Assistant CNO to join the largest teaching hospital in Arizona.If you’re passionate about caring for people, we invite you to join our Nursing department at the Maricopa Medical Center in sunny Phoenix, AZ!
During your career as the Assistant CNO, you will:
Provide leadership in planning, directing, and improving the health care services at MIHS
Be part of the development of new educational and research programs for nursing and patient care expansions
Report to the Chief Nursing Officer and in their absence, assume all the scope of their responsibilities

Master's degree in Nursing
OR a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master’s degree in a related field
Must have at least seven (7) years in a progressively responsible leadership role within acute care or public/academic healthcare system
Valid AZ RN License, Temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice and be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing
A BLS, A BLD card obtained through an approved AHA training center is preferred or will need to be obtained within 3 months of hire
LEAN/Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Experience must include demonstrated leadership ability, preferably in a related nursing management position
Requires a working knowledge of a comprehensive health quality program (e.g. patient safety, peer review, and infection control) and hospital system organizations.
Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team. Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time and other resource to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.
Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control and coordinate activities.
Must be able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively.
Must demonstrate ability to be self-directed, as well as demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff and senior leadership. Must possess good customer service and communication skills, the ability to work with professionals and maintain confidentiality standards.
Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
