UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC) with 779 beds and 69 bassinets is the region's trusted academic medical center, part of the UMass Memorial Health Care system. UMMMC also participates in research that bring patients the very latest diagnostic and treatment options. UMMMC partners with three community hospitals: including Clinton Hospital, HealthAlliance Hospital and Marlborough Hospital.
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) reports directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (SVPCNO) and is responsible for nursing care of the Medical Surgical patient population and works in collaboration with Division Chairs and Chiefs of Divisions. As a member of the nursing executive management team, the ACNO supports the development and implementation of the strategic goals of the Nursing Division and fosters a professional practice culture of accountability for quality, safety and a positive patient experience.
UMMMC is in search of a contemporary nursing leader seeking upward mobility for the ACNO position. The ACNO will assume responsibility for 13 Medical Surgical Units across the University and Memorial campuses for a total of 353 beds budgeted with an ADC 308.7 and a total of 698 FTEs.
A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, one of which must be in Nursing.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a healthcare environment and progressive management experience required.
Proven leadership ability to motivate and lead staff.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and evaluate programs.
Sound fiscal management experience to develop department budgets and analyze fiscal data.
Prior leadership experience in an AMC or complex teaching environment.
Experience leading in a union environment is highly preferred.
