Responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership to assigned departments to maintain standards of patient care. Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the organization nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department leaders, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Participates in task forces, committees, board meetings, etc. to assist with the overall organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Review and consult on strategic plans in collaboration with leadership and nursing units. Ability to implement and sustain the strategies to support the vision, mission and goals of the organization. Develops trusting relationships with personnel, clinical professionals, other leadership, and inter-professional departments with a professional attitude. Understands and leverages current and potential team capabilities and ability to clarify performance targets and objectives to drive project and process improvement strategies. Knowledge of human resources and personnel management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate and reward personnel at the work place.

Contributes to plans and policies regarding nurturing high-potential talent for retention and growth. Develops and implements strategies for retaining excellent performing employees. Monitors and ensures adherence to organization's financial practices and standards. Promotes organizational values that promote ethical and responsible decision making. Represents the organization faithfully and accurately with internal and external audiences. Seeks opportunities to serve as a mentor Takes actions to ensure the success of the group, unit, and company.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Certification is encouraged and may be required depending on specialty or service area. Bachelors degree in nursing required. Masters degree in nursing preferred. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Minimum of three years clinical experience required. Minimum of two years prior management/leadership experience required.
