You in the Role: Administers the ICU/CCU/PCU nursing program at Kootenai Health to maintain standards of patient care; advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service. You will recommend establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Generally, manages senior professional staff. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. You will be assisting nurse management by providing continuing education, strong leadership, and access to the Mayo Clinic Network, and co-workers that are supportive and care about their work. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field is required, Master's Degree is preferred.
State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho.
Minimum of five (5) years critical care experience plus an additional five (5) years in managing critical care units.
BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.
The successful professional will have a solid understanding of nursing information systems and nursing standards. Knowledge and application of principles of organizational and nursing management, accreditation processes, inventory management, financial management, conflict management, effective written and spoken communication skills, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws is required.
