The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of AHN Wexford Hospital provides leadership at the executive level for the organization's nursing services and contributes to the development of the organization's strategic plan. During the hospital design/build phase, the CNO will participate in, and where appropriate, lead elements of the initiative, ensuring optimization of cost, quality, efficiency, caregiver engagement, and recruitment strategies. This involvement includes, but is not limited to, physical space design, equipment acquisition, clinical and operational protocol development, and creation of recruitment and staffing plans based on service line needs.
Leadership responsibility for direct and indirect nursing, ensuring high quality care and an excellent patient experience.
Collaborates with colleagues in the C-suite, hospital leadership, and the medical staff to identify, develop and execute clinical care of current and future programs.
Ensures continued compliance with and promotion of nursing practice commiserate with Magnet® designation.
Develops, communicates and executes a strategy supporting a robust staffing plan and standards of patient care and services that meet patient care delivery needs of the organization using advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
Serves as a member of the AHN Chief Nurse Council.
In collaboration with the AHN Chief Nurse Executive, the Executive Nursing team, and AHN Chief Nursing Officers, creates, executes and refines network and facility level strategies related to:
Quality and Safety
Patient Experience and Service Excellence
Recruitment and Retention
Evidenced-based nursing practice, education, training, and competencies
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to nursing services and healthcare.
Masters in Nursing required; DNP/PhD preferred
Must enroll or be enrolled in a DNP program with expected completion within 2 years of hire or currently enrolled in a PhD program with expected completion within 4 years of hire
Current PA licensure as a Registered Nurse or license eligible in Pennsylvania
National certification required
Magnet® experience required
Ten years progressive management experience in healthcare setting
