Grady Health System, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is in search of an energetic, progressive and proven executive leader to serve as its Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO).
This is a coveted opportunity to join one of the nation’s most well-respected Level 1 trauma centers. Grady Health is also one of the largest safety net health systems in the United States, providing more than 200 specialty and subspecialty health clinics. Grady’s physicians, who are on the faculties at the Emory University School of Medicine and the Morehouse School of Medicine, provide patients with unparalleled care at the 953-bed Grady Memorial Hospital and six neighborhood health centers.
The CNIO will provide visionary leadership for informatics to deliver improved efficiency, safety, information use and clinical decision making for the entire care team through use of clinical information systems. He/She will lead care process improvement through design, implementation, integration, and ongoing evolution of processes and systems within the health system. This future CNIO will serve as a liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments, and Information Technology (IT) to align clinical and IT standards with department workflow, processes, and policies. The CNIO will act as a change agent for health system leaders and clinicians to promote adoption of new processes, technologies and achievement; and sustainment of expected benefits, therefore moving the organization to achieve excellence.
The CNIO will engage in development of informatics strategies to help Grady achieve its vision, goals, and strategies. He/She will work very closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Information Officer to leverage the various systems capabilities to improve the delivery of highly effective and efficient care that enables better health, better care at lower costs. A MSN or Masters in Informatics is required with a DNP or PhD in Nursing/Informatics is value added. He/She should also have a current RN license.
