As a key member of our leadership team, you will help to continually develop the results-driven initiatives that define our success and are transforming healthcare.
The Administrative Director, Clinical Education will be responsible for the strategic design, integration, implementation and evaluation of clinical practice programs and professional development programs to support nursing, and nursing practices across the Virginia Mason Health System. Provides nursing practice expertise and support in the development and implementation of nursing and clinical practice programs. Participates in creation of strategy and vision and coordinates activities and work plans to execute that vision. Partners with nursing, medical and other clinical leaders to ensure existing and future clinical practice programs facilitate clinical practice, delivery of safe patient care and are consistent with clinical practice evidence-based standards, scope and standards of professional nursing practice. Responsible for program execution and driving improvement / management for specific clinical programs.

Master’s degree in nursing required.
5-7 years of clinical nursing experience.
3-5 years of nursing education or staff development experience is required.
3-5 years leadership experience requirement.
Must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Broad knowledge of overall hospital operations, strong knowledge of nursing workflow and clinical standards of practice.
Strong knowledge of teaching/education pedagogy, adult learning theory, the Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory standards.
Ability to work with cross functional teams.
Valid Washington State RN license.
NPD (ANPD) or CNE (NLN) certification within 2 years of hire.
Experience with Magnet designation, instructional design and curriculum development.
