Provide direction and build capacity for research and evidence-based practice (EBP) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Serve as a nursing leader within the hospital and collaborate with the College of Nursing, the Carver College of Medicine, the Institute of Clinical and Translational Science, and other University of Iowa colleges as appropriate, related to research and evidence-based practice. Maintain an adjunct appointment in the College of Nursing and promote collaborative research projects between other health sciences colleges and the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care.
PhD in Nursing or a related field or a DNP with a strong emphasis in research and eligible for appointment at the academic rank of adjunct assistant, associate or full professor. If doctorate is in a related field, a Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
Five years demonstrated experience in nursing leadership in a clinical setting and an emphasis in health services research.
Demonstrated ability to write and publish in peer-reviewed publications and presentation of research findings to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated expertise in research and a track record in successfully obtaining extramural funding.
Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment is required.
Must be proficient in computer software applications.
A license to practice registered nursing in Iowa is required.
Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body desired.
Experience in an academic medical center environment.
Current or previous experience supporting the Magnet® designation/re-designation process
