Nursing Administrative Director- Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center- FT Days
This is a tremendous opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to maximize their leadership skills with Vanderbilt-Ingram, one of a select few National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers since 1995 and one of only 49 achieving the NCI’s highest distinction, as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network we work along with 27 other leading centers working together to improve quality and effectiveness of cancer care. The person in this role will have three direct reports and a total of 45 FTE’s non-direct reports. This role will oversee five clinics and one lab. These would consist of a nationally accredited Breast Center which is a Breast Center Imaging Center of Excellence, two Infusion Clinics, 1 Cancer Clinic, and 1 Oncology Model Extended Hour Clinic.
In this leadership role you will be responsible for the following:
POLICY & PROCEDURES
Create strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies; as well as programs to meet external healthcare trends/demands.
Implement changes for improvement that focus on financial performance, quality, and customer satisfaction as well as standardization of services.
Ensure the most effective operations of the department through program development, process design/improvement and coordination/integration of processes with other departments.
Negotiate capital and operating budget requests.
Create and exceed service standards compatible with financial targets.
Responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer for the integration of nursing practice across the Clinical Enterprise.
Collaborate on key strategic decisions with other Patient Care Centers.
Create an organizational culture (both within and across departments) that provides a safe, satisfying and enriching environment for employees and provides a qualified, competent staff to meet patient needs.
Establish and maintain cost-effective recruitment and staffing policies and programs for staff nurses and related positions.
Demonstrate a leadership style that is facilitative and collaborative
Create an environment that encourages and supports self-development and learning for all staff
Experience in cancer program operations
Experience in achieving and maintaining cancer program accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) preferred
Knowledge of accreditation standards for cancer programs preferred
Required Position Qualifications:
Job requires Registered Nurse with MSN and 10 years of experience or the equivalent.
Leadership and Oncology Nursing Experience Required
Prefer OCN Certification
