The Chief Nursing Officer has executive oversight for all patient care functions. Responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing and monitoring patient care programs and services, benchmarking performance against government agency standards, assisting top management in resolving hospital operational issues, and developing strategic plans with regards to patient care. Familiarity and experience with a variety of Nursing concepts, practices, and procedures, as well as overall hospital operations, are essential
Experience: At least 5 years in hospital senior management leadership.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN and Master’s in Nursing, Business, or Health related field.
Licensure: Licensed in Louisiana as a RN

Promotes a practice environment that empowers nurses and support staff to provide effective, compassionate, and efficient evidence-based nursing care.
Assures a leadership role in the development, interpretation, and articulation of standards of care(ANA Standards of Practice) practice standards, policies and procedures integral to the optimal functioning of Clinical Services.
Creatively seeks new opportunities within clinical services to partner with physicians, community leaders, employers, and other healthcare facilities for increasing market share in the primary service areas.
Provides the resources necessary to enhance growth and development opportunities for self and team
Advocates for allocation and reallocation of resources necessary to enhance quality and patient safety activities.
Ensures that the quality and patient safety outcomes and data are deployed throughout the organization and actions plans for improvement are initiated and completed.
Monitors key nursing indicators such as nursing outcomes indicators (i.e. turnover, retention, vacancy rates).
Promotes a culture of engagement through the shared governance model to foster the sharing of ideas, problem solving and decision-making at all levels.
