This is a wonderful opportunity for a strategic and collaborative nurse leader to enhance patient care services within a successful academic medical center as it adapts to continuing and remarkable recent growth.
Cooper University Health Care, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the leading provider of health services to southern New Jersey. In the past decade, Cooper has greatly expanded its facilities and services in Camden and throughout South Jersey. With more than $1 billion in net revenue, the Cooper network currently serves more than half a million patients a year. The health system includes Cooper University Hospital and a network of more than 100 outpatient locations throughout the region.
The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for the strategic planning and operational leadership for patient care services, and for the standard of nursing practice throughout the hospital and in all settings where nursing care, treatment and services are delivered, including transportation departments. As an integral member of the executive leadership team, the CNO will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, servant leadership and a partnership approach.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of positively affecting the patient experience and standardization of care. He/she will possess a hands-on, highly visible and approachable leadership style, and will possess strong process-improvement skills, and a solid understanding of ambulatory and population health management.
A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in nursing leadership at a director level and above in a large hospital or health system; and a minimum of ten years of experience in provision of patient care in a hospital environment are required. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required, along with a current nursing license in NJ, or the ability to acquire. A master’s degree in nursing or related field is required; a Doctorate degree is highly preferred.
