Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President, Nursing/Patient Care Services
WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical Center (WellStar Kennestone) seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). WellStar Kennestone, the 633-bed facility, and anchor of WellStar Regional Medical Center, offers patients a comprehensive cardiovascular program, advanced neurosurgical and interventional radiology, along with the most advanced cancer treatment modalities. More than 5,500 babies are delivered at WellStar Kennestone; their premier women's health program is supported by a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Hospital also houses the only Level II Trauma Center in northwest Atlanta; one of four comprehensive stroke centers in Georgia and ranks among U.S. News and World Report's top hospitals in the state. WellStar Kennestone is the busiest emergency department in Georgia.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Hospital President, Mary Chatman, PhD, RN, the CNO will participate with the Executive Team and work collaboratively with leadership throughout the Hospital to plan, promote and conduct activities that improve patient care, operations, fiscal performance, quality and patient satisfaction. The CNO will serve as the champion for the patient care delivery model and promote the professional nursing practice through shared governance, evidence-based practice and ethical accountability.
Candidates must be bachelors and masters prepared, with at least one degree in Nursing and a successful track record of progressive, operational experience in leading an effective Nursing department, as well as clinical outcome operations, implementing current best practices. This role requires an emotionally intelligent leader who is highly connected and engaged with all staff and focused on contemporary nursing and operational clinical outcomes delivery. Further, the CNO will have a clear opportunity to support the WellStar System nurse leadership in the development of system-wide nursing culture and services across the System. Experience in a multi-hospital system environment and in multiple markets is preferred.
