Chief Nursing Officer Wexford Hospital- Allegheny Health Network Pittsburgh, PA
Allegheny Health Network (AHN) was formed in 2013, serving 29 Pennsylvania counties and portions of New York, Ohio and West Virginia. AHN extends their reach to more people than ever and offers a broad spectrum of care and services. They have eight hospitals with over 2,000 beds, including: Allegheny General, Allegheny Valley, Canonsburg, Forbes, Jefferson, Saint Vincent, Westfield Memorial, and West Penn; 6 surgery centers and more than 200 primary and specialty-care practices. Wexford Hospital will be the ninth AHN acute care facility and is scheduled to open in Spring 2021. Wexford Hospital is currently in the architectural planning phase.
Wexford Hospital, to be built in Wexford, PA, will serve northern Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. A value-based patient and employee centered design approach is being led by international and award winning architectural firm HKS. The philosophy of “clinician led” project work will culminate in the construction of a state of the art 110-bed full service community hospital that is thoughtfully designed to expand to 160 beds. Wexford Hospital will fully integrate with the 180,000 square foot AHN Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, which opened in 2014.
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of AHN Wexford Hospital provides leadership at the executive level for the organization's nursing services and contributes to the development of the organization's strategic plan. During the hospital design/build phase, the CNO will participate in, and where appropriate, lead elements of the initiative, ensuring optimization of cost, quality, and efficiency; caregiver engagement; workflow analysis; and recruitment strategies. This involvement includes, but is not limited to, physical space design, equipment acquisition, clinical and operational protocol development, and creation of recruitment and staffing plans based on service line needs.
The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for all inpatient nursing and emergency services and will have dotted line responsibility for peri-operative services.
