Seeking a Director of Nursing for Med-Surg, Tele, and Critical Care
Exciting opportunity for an innovative Director of Nursing at Riddle Hospital that would oversee several areas including critical care, telemetry, and med-surg units. This position would report to the Regional Vice President of Patient Care Services, and would have 5 direct reporting Managers who each oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple nursing units and patient care services.
The Director of Nursing would be responsible for but not limited to: - The managerial functions of setting strategic initiatives, objectives, budgetary and financial responsibility, staffing and directing activities of assigned areas of responsibilities. - Partners with the Regional Vice President of Patient Care Services in the strategic implementation of system goals. - May assume administrative responsibility for designated areas in the absence of the Regional Vice President of Patient Care Services. - Implements the strategic plan providing direction for the nursing department, shared decision-making initiatives at the hospital and system levels to support a superior patient experience.
1. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Nursing Administration, prior management experience required. Experience overseeing multiple nursing units preferred; Director-level experience preferred. 2. Recent acute care experience required. 3. Magnet Experience highly preferred. 4. Knowledge of administrative concepts, organizational behavior, management processes, understanding group dynamics as they pertain to health care organizations. 5. Knowledge of current national nursing practices. 6. Ability to lead change, build & lead teams, and develop & maintain inter-professional relationships with senior executives and physicians. 7. Maintains executive competence in speaking and writing.
1. MSN or other related Masters Degree required. 2. Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Licensures & Certifications:
1. A current RN license. 2. Certification in clinical area or Nurse Executive / Nursing Leadership highly preferred.
