Twenty-four hour a day management responsibility and accountability for nursing care delivery, human resources, operations, financial, and total quality improvement for the Emergency Department, Urgent Care and Emergency Management.
Utilizes a value based method when recruiting, interviewing, and selecting qualified employees
Participates in formal retention and recognition activities
Develops position descriptions/evaluations/essential functions for all job categories utilizing staff input
Develops and implements department specific orientation / education / competency programs
Communicates clear, concise expectations and demonstrates accountability for employee performance by coaching, mentoring, and initiating disciplinary action when appropriate
Promotes and role models teamwork and positive working relationships
Establishes and maintains current policies and procedures for the department
Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or demonstrates willingness to pursue degree within 2 years.
Minimum of five years direct patient care experience in Emergency Nursing. Minimum of three years management/leadership experience required.
Demonstrated effectiveness in management, leadership and quality/safety improvement.
Graduation from a professional school of nursing required
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota required
ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 certifications required, or willingness to achieve within 2 months. Basic Life Support. Advanced Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support. TNCC.
Expertise in the area of emergency management preferred. Demonstrate willingness to achieve ICS 300 and 400 certifications.
Certification in Nursing Specialty. Instructor status in any required training.
