Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a Director of Nursing to join our Maternal and Child Health team. The director must be an innovative leader who implements clinical models and systems to address the needs of patients and families in the new healthcare delivery and reimbursement system. The director is also responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating all nursing functions within the MCH nursing division, which includes Labor & Delivery, Mother/baby unit, Neonatal ICU & Peds/Peds ED. He/she supervises and supports the patient care managers, formulates goals, recommends budget, and provides oversight and direction as needed to ensure safe, effective, high quality patient care and the highest standards of nursing practice.
4-7 years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience required.
Maternal/child health nursing experience is a must.
Experience with functionality of clinical information systems and how they impact workflow and clinical practice in acute settings preferred.
In-depth knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and administration to plan and evaluate nursing standards and practice.
Master's degree in nursing required; Doctorate in nursing strongly preferred.
Maryland RN license required; certification in nursing admin or specialty a plus.
