This position encompasses executive, administrative, and management responsibilities related to surgical services at Cape Fear Valley Health System (CFVHS). The surgical service line encompasses pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patients from inpatient and outpatient perspectives, acute and chronic pain management, and palliative care.
The corporate director of perioperative services will report to the chief nurse executive/chief nursing officer of CFVHS, and will directly supervise the operating suites, Short Stay Center, endoscopy, the PACU, anesthesiology, the 7-South and 3VPN surgical units, nursing supervisors, bed placement, SST, SST admin, OBS B-C, and CRNAs at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, as well as the operating suites, Short Stay Center, endoscopy, the PACU, and Central Sterile Supply at Highsmith-Rainey. This position indirectly supervises staff from all surgery-related departments, and serves as the clinical liaison between surgical units at Highsmith-Rainey LTAC, Bladen County Hospital, Hoke Hospital, and Harnett Health.
The corporate service line director is responsible for leading, enhancing, directing, organizing, and monitoring all surgical-related activities at CFVHS to facilitate a seamless patient continuum that offers cost-efficient and quality services that are competitive in the marketplace. Additionally, this individual is accountable for assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and executing strategies and tactics of the strategic business unit to achieve optimal financial performance, cost efficiency, business growth, quality performance, clinical superiority, and market leadership.
The corporate service line director works with designated medical directors to provide collaborative leadership that blends clinical practice and fiscal strategies. Additional physician participation related to service line development/management may be solicited via advisory committees, focus groups, personal interviews, etc.
