Here at WakeMed, the Director is a key leadership role with responsibilities for Women's and Children's Services at the Raleigh campus. These services will involve planning, coordinating, aligning, and providing the highest quality of patient care. This role will work with the Executive Medical Director for the Children's Hospital and administrative leaders for the Raleigh campus. The Director will employ a system strategy with appreciation for specific sites' goals and strategic plans while working with other inter-professional stakeholders will be essential for ongoing patient family centered care, addressing immediate and long-range needs and responding to and planning for the needs of our community. The Director assists in developing strategies for service assessment, marketing, as well as stimulating innovative discussions for future opportunities and service considerations and demonstrates the ability to respond positively to changing circumstances and maximizes opportunities. This role is looking for a collaborative, empowering, results oriented leader who role models and champions the patient experience setting the bar at the highest level for clinical excellence. The Director is highly engaged and visible leader driven to mentor, develop and build strong, accountable nursing and inter-professional teams and engages patients and families as full partners in their care. The Director creates and nurtures a work environment that engages staff and physicians around respect for people, collaboration and teamwork, always keeping the patient and family as top priority. The Director embraces AACN standards for ensuring and sustaining healthy work environments and promotes the ANA Code of Ethics for values, duties, and commitments. The Director utilizes the ANA Nursing Administration standards of practice to understand and respond to the needs or organization and reports to Vice President of Nursing in Raleigh.
- BSN and MSN required. National certification in Nursing or in area of specialty required within one year of hire.
- Five years of general experience in inpatient Women's and Children's Services required.
- Five years of management experience required.
- Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Weekend requirements: as needed
- Call requirements: as needed
