The Executive Director of Post Operative Nursing will be responsible for providing leadership for nine nurse managers and 500 indirect reports. The hospital it is based out of is a flagship hospital for a health system and is located in an affluent suburb of Atlanta, GA. This hospital achieves $1B in revenue annually and is licensed for 633 beds. Master’s degree in Nursing or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school with a Master’s degree in a related field is required.
Registered Nurse who is actively licensed in the state of Georgia required. National certification in nursing administration or clinical specialty preferred.
Must have current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment position.
Minimum of 10-12 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. This includes 5-7 years of progressive operational leadership in a manager or director level role.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building; a knowledge of the health care environment; leadership that includes such skills as successfully implementing and managing a change process.
Ability to use systems thinking, inspire, coach others to be successful, and model the way for professional practice.
Possess necessary building skills to manage human and material resources.
Must be a continuous learner who understands health care financing; strategy and operations for running a business unit(s); and effectively employ data and technology to support work processes and make decisions.
Knowledge of risk management and various accreditation/regulations/licensing requirements assuring that these are upheld while advancing industry standards through the achievement of goals by effective management and measurement of outcomes.
Supports shared governance or shared decision-making and manages the design and delivery of care that in based on evidence and focused on quality and safety.
