Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) has overall authority for providing leadership, direction, and administration of direct patient care activities, nursing practice, and nursing education and development across the organization. The CNO is responsible for driving, supporting and modeling a culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. Demonstrated ability to develop solutions that challenge the status quo and generate new and innovative ideas in response to business issues and the ability to remove barriers is a critical requirement of this position for the organization.
This position is accountable for the day to day operation of the nursing units and designated clinical areas for developing and implementing nursing strategy and corporate policies at the site for the delivery of quality patient care and so that patient expectations are met or exceeded. Develops and implements site specific patient-focused management programs, nursing practice guidelines, nursing quality indicators, nursing research based practices, and clinical pathways. Responsible for the integration of the care are delivered within financial, quality, risk, DOH, OMH, HFAP and other regulatory guidelines
The CNO maintains the authority, accountability and responsibility for the provision of appropriate and consistent standards of care are utilized wherever patient care is delivered.

Inpatient and Ambulatory Patient Care Services (Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Emergency, Peri-operative, Women’s Health, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation Services, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Cardiology, Education and Professional Development.
