The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Senior Program Specialist, Center for Care and Innovation (CCIT), for the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) located in our Chicago office.
The Senior Program Specialist, CCIT implements and administers all program functions for the Care Innovation and Transformation (CIT) program. Develops, plans and executes a wide variety of activities related to the CIT program to include cohort planning and onsite training, program evaluation, and communications with internal and external groups across the country. Additionally, supports the planning of quality, patient safety and nursing leadership research program functions that are conducted by the CCIT.
AONE’s Care Innovation and Transformation (CIT) Program is a collaborative, workshop-style series of lectures, interactive exercises and training modules designed to help nursing unit leaders and their frontline staff improve patient care, hospital performance and employee engagement. The CIT program empowers front-line nurses to use their knowledge, skills and creativity to develop care innovations and lead change, strengthening and transforming their organizations from the bottom up.
Develops a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that speaks to the value of and facilitates recruitment to the CIT program and consists of print, electronic, and social media.
Develops and executes communications to existing and prospective CIT program participants, CIT faculty, and vendors.
Develops, coordinates, and manages communication with prospective AONE nursing leadership grant recipients to include timelines and expectations around deliverables.
Leads in-person CIT learning community meetings and participates as program faculty for all onsite events.
Evaluates performance of program by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics for program.
Summarizes findings and redesigns program to meet educational needs. Provides data management support to CIT teams to ensure data driven outcomes are captured and delivered in presentations, reports, and manuscripts.
Develops annual CIT budget, tracking and managing all revenue and expenses.
Collaborates with supervisor and department team members such as marketing and communications staff to ensure program deliverables are being developed and met
Master's degree in Nursing, Performance Improvement/Quality Management, Public Health, Health Care or Business
5-7 years experience with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience applying expertise in the promotion of quality nursing care
Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting is required.Experience in performance improvement and/or quality management preferred (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA); managing projects; developing communications; experience with data collection, analysis and reporting is required.
Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of patient safety and performance improvement/quality management, change management, the current health care environment, health policy, and managing complex projects.
Technical Requirements: Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.). Ability to learn new technology is required. Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat Professional is a plus. Experience with online survey development software such as Survey Monkey is preferred. Experience with utilizing various software such as a membership software or learning management system is preferred. Knowledge of data analysis and research is required.
Abilities Required:Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Ability to collaborate and work with others. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to conduct technical and non-technical training presentations to a variety of nursing professionals; Ability to take initiative and must be self-directed. Ability to multi task and meet deadlines.
