Under the direction of the Sr. Director, the Regional Director- Surgical Services, will develop and lead continuous improvement initiatives and Surgical Services best practice strategies in the assigned region to achieve organizational goals through standardized processes.
Key focus on redesigning work to improve quality, service and throughput while achieving cost efficiency and improving productivity in Tenet hospitals. Facilitates the assessment, planning and implementation of consistent standardized processes based on identified opportunities that drive improved patient care and capacity. This leadership position builds strong performance based relationships, manages through roadblocks and barriers to success, and builds processes and protocols to ensure continued sustainability of initiatives and business processes.
Participates as a member of the Regional Administrative and Performance Excellence (PE) teams. This position will partner with the Regional Administrative leaders to ensure the strategies are executed at the local level. He/She will work directly with region leaders to develop regional strategies and tactics that are in alignment with company goals.
Uses lean tools in conjunction with the Regional Management Engineer to develop and implement best practices to achieve organizational goals through effectively leading and managing change in a matrix environment. Oversees the implementation of action plans and monitors progress toward goals assisting with addressing barriers and challenges and making adjustments as needed in a supportive, synergistic manner. Collaborates with medical and nursing leadership, PE team members, and resource management, to develop and implement methods to optimize use of hospital and surgical services. Works with hospital administrative team to recruit and onboard excellent candidate for key leadership positions.
Manages multi-disciplinary process improvement by utilizing excellent communication and leadership skills to challenge status quo and positively influence Regional Administrative teams and physicians to change processes to improve performance. May assist with the designing of and providing input needed for implementation and optimization of documentation systems (Cerner, First Net, MedHost, etc) to standardize work flow and achieve key indicators. Partners with leaders to provide orientation for new PE team members as well as Hospital leaders when requested. Fosters an environment that promotes team member support, partnership, growth and development by assessing the needs of the team and implementing programs to meet those needs. Provides analysis and education regarding regulatory and clinical changes impacting surgical services process improvement. Provides education and tools for educating physicians regarding surgical services process and clinical standards. Provides guidance to ensure patient care and throughput goals are met by working with interdisciplinary teams and entities to coordinate patient flow in surgical services and into the hospital.
Work in in alignment with assigned Regional Administrative team and consistently demonstrates ability to:

This position will require a daily presence in our Western Regional office in Irvine, CA (if not traveling).
75% travel - as travel is required, we will run a MVR on the final candidate.
Current RN license and BSN required. A minimum of 7 years Surgical Services Department leadership experience in an acute setting preferred. Have at a minimum held a mid-level administrative or higher position (e.g., nurse manager, supervisor, director, assistant director) and/or nursing management or executive consultation position full-time for at least 12 months (or the equivalent) within the past 5 years. Project management experience; strong analytical skills including use of Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to manipulate and analyze data… Strong Presentation skills a must– development and presentation of content. Advanced degree in Business, Nursing and/or Health Care Administration preferred. Certification by a recognized accreditation such as CEN, CNML, is required within 6 months of hire. Ability to manage multiple sites, people and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines is a must. One must possess excellent organization and prioritization skills as well as ability to mentor and develop others in this arena.
