The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Director of Patient Family Engagement for Health Research and Educational Trust
The Director, PFE is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of work designed to engage and integrate the patient, family, and consumer perspectives in diverse initiatives across the AHA.
This position will cultivate strategic partnerships with a diverse group of partners in order to achieve the strategic, financial, and quality goals of the AHA. S/he will be responsible for developing high-impact offerings for AHA members around PFE education, tools, thought leadership and organizational strategies.
This role will play an essential role in securing and achieving success with grant-funded quality improvement initiatives in addition to strategic commercial offerings that enhance value for the field.
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role will be expected to build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including organizational and clinical leaders, association members, sponsors, patient and family advisors and advocates, organizations that support promote PFE initiatives, peers and other project leaders.
The leader in this role will be expected to collaborate with other leaders and team members across the Center and AHA to support innovative products and processes.
Required Education: Master's Degree
Desired fields of study: Preferably a clinician. Healthcare Strategy, Clinical Care, Consulting, Education, Communications or related fields. Years of experience may be substituted for education.
Minimum 7 years in a healthcare provider organization in strategy and/or direct care roles.
Minimum 5 years in patient and family engagement education.
Minimum 5 years in healthcare association or national performance improvement companies is preferred.
Strong background in product or educational programming preferred.
