Southcoast Health System located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, has retained Witt/Kieffer to aid in the recruitment of the organization's next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
Southcoast was founded in 1996 due to the merger of St. Luke's Health Care System in New Bedford, MA, Charlton Health System in Fall River, MA, and Tobey Health System in Wareham, MA. Southcoast is comprised of 815 beds and provides services to 719,000 residents throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The System includes Southcoast Hospitals Group which is comprised of three hospitals operating under one license: Charlton Memorial Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Tobey Hospital; Southcoast Physicians Group; Southcoast Health Network; Southcoast VNA; and Southcoast Behavioral Health.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Southcoast Health System, the CNO will oversee nursing operations across the System. S/he will be a transformational leader responsible for developing a comprehensive nursing strategy and identifying ways to improve and consolidate nursing processes and operations. The CNO will serve as the voice of nursing and build a high performing nursing team. With a dotted line to the Physician-In-Chief for Medicine and Chief Clinical Officer, s/he will promote a culture of collaboration with the medical staff and champion quality and patient engagement goals.
The ideal candidate will be Master's prepared with a minimum of ten years of progressive experience leading patient care services. Candidates should have a track record of success in establishing a strong, supportive nursing culture and partnering with physician leadership. Candidates should also possess strong financial acumen and be results driven.
