The Emergency Department at the Albert Einstein Medical Center - Philadelphia Campus is one of the busiest Emergency Departments and Level-1 Trauma Centers within the city of Philadelphia. We are a Magnet designated independent academic medical center with a community-style feel that can be observed throughout the Emergency Department and organization. Our services include thrombectomy capable primary stroke center, robust heart and vascular programs including a VAD program, psychiatric Crisis Response Center, Philadelphia Fire Department EMS Medical Command Center, and robust trauma program. In this role you will be responsible for:
Defining, planning, implementing, and monitoring patient care delivery, fiscal management, human resource management and departmental operations for defined care areas(s).
Takes a leadership role in developing policy and standards for patient care services.

Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care ?delivery.
Participates in departmental, nursing, and organizational policy formulation and decision making.

Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care.
Coordinates nursing care with other healthcare disciplines, and assists in integrating services across the continuum of health care.
Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the nurse manager.
Participates in the recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel, including staff representative of the population diversity.
Evaluates performance of personnel.
Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel, considering scope of practice, competencies, patient needs, and complexity of care.
Ensures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for personnel.
Assesses the impact of, and plans strategies to address, such issues as Ethnic, cultural and diversity changes in the population, Political and social influences, Financial and economic issues, The aging of society and demographic trends, Ethical issues related to health care.
Develops, implements, monitors, and is accountable for the budget for the defined area(s) of responsibility.
Ensures evidence based practice by participating in and involving the nursing staff in evaluative research activities. Provides or facilitates educational experiences for nursing and other students. Ensures proper program development and implementation in Emergency Department Setting. Ensures shared accountability for professional practice.
Advocates for a work environment that minimized work related illness and injury. Ensures compliance with any applicable regulatory agencies.
Maintaining a rigorous shared governace platform for staff participation.
Maintaining a strong DIAD relationship with physician departmental leadership.
Maintain strong staff and leader working relationships within a collective bargaining atmosphere
Development and review of sound business strategies that enhance staff, patient, and physician/APP satisfaction.

BSN required; proof of current enrollment in MSN program.
MSN or equivalent graduate business or healthcare degree required.
Seven to ten years clinical experience in an academic Emergency Department and Trauma Center.
A minimum of five years management/administrative/leadership in a nursing role.
Experience in nursing leadership required.
Previous fiscal and supervisory experience required.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Flight Nurse (CFRN) required.
Nursing leadership certification preferred.
BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
