Kirby Bates Associates has been exclusively retained by ChristianaCare Health System to conduct a search for their next Vice President Patient Care Services (VP), Emergency Department (ED).
ChristianaCare is a private, not for profit regional health care system which provides superior, emergency and trauma services to Northern Delaware and the surrounding region. The emergency departments at Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, Union Hospital, and the Middletown free-standing ED, treat a combined total of more than 225,000 patients each year. ChristianaCare’s ED is ranked 24th in the U.S. and 15th on the East Coast in number of patient visits, according to the AHA. ChristianaCare has been recognized for the innovative changes they have implemented to transform how emergency services are delivered. ChristianaCare LifeNet provides emergency air transport for critically ill patients at Christiana Hospital in Newark, the only Level 1 Trauma center for both adults and children in Delaware. Wilmington Hospital is a level III trauma center.
The VP provides nursing and administrative leadership for pre-hospital services, observations units, emergency and trauma services, across the system to meet the organization’s goals. Through effective leadership, provide service excellence in patient care delivery, professional development of leaders and staff, and fiscal management across the system. Ensures the delivery of safe, high quality, patient centric care. Actively engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives across the system.
Opportunity Highlights:
A system level position which supports emergency and trauma services across 4 Emergency Departments.
Collaborate with nursing, physicians and other clinical leaders in strategic decision-making.
Create innovative, effective, affordable and equitable systems of care to improve access and deliver a positive patient experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (one of which must be in Nursing).
Eligible for RN licensure in Delaware.
Certification in advanced executive nursing required.
A minimum of five years of progressive ED leadership experience.
